Peter, a WW II 'displaced person' about to be deported jumps ship in New

It is a race against time for if he can't Tom within 24 hours and prove his
case, he will be branded a fugitive and will be permanently disqualified for
U.S. citizenship. His quest leads him to befriending Maggie, a down-on-her-luck
factory worker whom he rejuvenates through his good faith; a visit to a jazz
club where Shorty Rogers and his band and trombonist Jack Teagarden are
playing, and an interlude with a good- hearted burlesque dancer, Tanya Zakoyla,
takes him to her mother's home for food and rest. The climax comes at dawn
in the United Nations building (the "glass wall" of the title) where he goes
to plead his case and that of all displaced persons.

his girl-friend Belinda Pendergast are having problems with the masked bandit
'Pecos Pete'. Penny Singleton is adorably ditzy as the heroine, Glenn Ford
honed his comic skills as "the tenderfoot" and sparkling Ann Miller as the
tart-tongued saloon-singer steals the show. The Sammy Cahn score is a treat,
and Annie's tip-tapping with Allen Jenkins singing "I Wish That I could
Be a Singing Cowboy" is one of the many highlights of this unique lark of
a film.

Mr. Mason is a salesman at Detridge & Frome who wants
to advertise their line of riding clothes. Since they have the rights to
famous jockey Peter Randall, who is in Australia, Peter will impersonate him
at the Steeple Chase. At the event, he is invited to a party by Cora and
sees young Ellen. Since all Ellen and Peter have in common is horses, he
continues the charade to woo her. But two gamblers named Maxie and Duke, try
to make money on the race by fixing him up with the wild 'Jeepers Creepers'.
That horse can jump high and run like the wind, but he will only calm down
enough to be ridden when Gabriel plays his trumpet.

to stay, they put on an elaborate show designed to scare Garrick out of
his wits. The great actor becomes suspicious and foils their plans, winning
the heart of the Countess Germaine–the only guest at the Inn who is not
involved in the actors’ machinations in the process.

Murphy deserts the Union Army to warn former Texas neighbors
of impending Indian attacks triggered by Army massacre. He overcomes initial
distrust and convinces the homesteaders (all women whose men are away fighting

them to fight and shoot in anticipation of the attack. The only other man
at the mission runs away to save his scalp and ends up leading the Indians
back to the mission. Surrounded and outnumbered, the defenders prepare for
the final assault.
