Kaptain
Kool & The Kongs
Only $15.95
Saturday mornings in the 70’s came alive on ABC’s ‘Kroft Super Show’. A show that was filled with cartoons, live action serials, & plenty of bubblegum music, which was furnished by the show’s hosts: Kaptain Kool & The Kongs. They were a band that was fronted by Michael Lembeck, who went on to have a degree of success in sitcoms like ‘One Day at a Time’ & numerous guest shots on TV Shows. Though they band did not play their own music, they did however, sing all the songs on this lost & rare album. They even made an appearance on ‘American Bandstand’ in support of the album when it was released in 1976.
Track Listing:
Keeping Secrets
Starring: Suzanne Somers, Michael Learned, Ken Kercheval,
David Birney & Susan Krebs
Somers portrays herself in this autobiographical account of her life and
struggles of growing up with an alcoholic father, getting pregnant in high
school, being flat broke and arrested for uttering bad checks, struggling
to make it in Hollywood while being a single parent, having an affair with
a married man, posing for nude pics & still being able to look at herself
in the mirror every day. The movie really focuses very little attention,
if any, on her accomplishments in the entertainment industry other than a
reference to her role in American Graffiti & instead telling the story
that few fans ever get to see…one of how a star got to the top.
