The Bribe

In pursuit of stolen aircraft engines on a Central American island, federal agent Rigby meets chief suspect Hintten and his wife Elizabeth, a sultry cafe singer; and is watched by Bealer, a "pie-shaped man" with sore feet. Rigby knows he's on the right track when Bealer offers him money to leave Carlota. When Rigby and Elizabeth are drawn to each other, the gang realizes there's more than one kind of bribe. Everybody sweats.

 Dr. Goldfoot (Vincent Price) plans on taking over the world with his beautiful female robots, who seduce rich and powerful men. Robot #11/Diane (Susan Hart) is sent after millionaire Todd Armstrong (Dwayne Hickman). Secret agent Craig Gamble (Frankie Avalon) tries to stop the plot but ends up in the torture chamber with Armstrong. The parody of "The Pit and the Pendulium" is the highlight of the film which also includes bits by Annette Funicello, Harvey Lembeck and Deborah Walley. Title song performed by The Supremes.

But who would have wanted to kill a girl with whom every man she met seemed to fall in love? To make matters worse, McPherson finds himself falling under her spell too. Then one night, halfway through his investigations, something seriously bizarre happens to make him re-think the whole case.

An all-star cast in a lavish historical epic that featured as many fireworks on the set between Davis and Flynn as appeared on-screen. Davis makes an imperious Elizabeth who is both drawn to and suspicious of the dashing Essex (Flynn), who returns in triumph from Spain.

The Web
    Starring: Vincent Price, Edmond O'Brien & Ella Raines

Leopold Kroner, formerly of Colby Enterprises, is released after five years in prison for embezzlement. Andrew Colby, claiming that Kroner has threatened him, hires lawyer Bob Regan as a secret bodyguard. Sure enough, Kroner turns up in Colby's room with a gun, and Regan kills him. Then Regan, who sticks around to romance Colby's secretary Noel, begins to suspect he's been used.

While the City Sleeps
