Three outlaws come to the aid of a young girl after her mother is killed. An outstanding example of the silent western and one of John Ford's earliest triumphs. The photography is stunning and the land rush sequences truly impressive, and while the story of redemption and sacrifice is predictable it is nonetheless still moving. This movie was remade years later by Ford himself as “ 3 Godfathers” starring John Wayne.

Murphy and Cooper pretend to want to rejoin the gange, but the bad guys catch on and brutally eat Cooper, who protects Murphy's true sentiments to the death.

He soon finds that the Sundance gang is waiting for 'The Poet' so he impersonates him and finds that Ann is the wife of the outlaw. Wylie is concerned about the gang, 'The Poet' and Ann.

The hardened gunslinger eventually keeps a level head while the even-tempered Forbes turns into a cold-blooded killing machine. Warfield and Forbes eventually complete their personality changes that lead to the inevitable western showdown.

The Sammy Cahn score is a treat, and Annie's tip-tapping with Allen Jenkins singing "I Wish That I could Be a Singing Cowboy" is one of the many highlights of this unique lark of a film.

Last Train From Gun Hill

The wife of marshal Matt Morgan is raped and murdered. Morgan is determined to capture Rick and take him away by the 9.00 train; but he is trapped in the town alone, with Belden and all his men now looking to kill him.
